In-car safety seats to be mandatory for under-12s

Just read this and thought I post it here.

Following the announcement that car safety seats are to be mandatory for children up to the age of 12 from April 2010, a significant rise from the current maximum age of 7.

Markalex can you provide a link? Are there even car seats that close to 12 year olds can fit in on the market?

The use should be based on height and weight, not age.

The law was changed just a few weekes ago and it is full car seats that will be required up to 12 years old, but JLP you are correct once the child reaches a certain height they will be excempt.

According to TCS, "No" this is one of the reasons we ended up buying a new car.
