| | | Shared Van - UK and Zurich
Hello,
I am planning on moving from the UK to Zurich in January at some point. There are few if any one way rentals. If anyone is interested in driving a van and their items back to the UK, please let me know.
If you have any other advice for a one way rental from the UK to Zurich, please let me know. Looks like I may just need to hire a moving company. I only have a small amount without furniture, so a large van will suffice.
Thanks!

We've moved a couple of loads over to the UK, and the cheapest is to do a return rental and bring it back here.
We'll be doing it ourselves some time between January and March - really not looking forward to it all!

I recently got Luker Bros to bring a load of stuff, excellent service, on time and only £800 for a load of furniture.
Would recommend

Thanks! | | | | | Hi there,
I would suggest that you send a message to Grumpy Grapefruit. He is often advertising space in his van, as due to his successful cheese business, he makes frequent trips .

How about you buy a cheap Transit Van and then drive it over full of stuff ... and then just dump it/give it away. |

I also have a desk and a table that I'd love to bring over to Zürich from the UK (Sheffield) - if there's space in a van I'd be happy to chip in on the cost. |

I was wondering if you've found somebody yet? If not, I'm looking to move our furniture towards the end of January from Luzern to SE UK.
Please let me know the details.
Thanks,
Nigel

I can potentially rent a van this weekend from Birmingham or Walsall which would need to be returned to the same location. It would be a 1-week rental for about 600 pounds which we could split. If anyone is interested in returning the van to the UK mid to late next week, please send me a message.
Thanks

David,
Will your van be full? Any space for my bed?
Still trying to find a solution and of course will contribute to costs.

Thanks | | | | | I think if you check the T&Cs the insurance will not be valid if you leave the UK.
If you guys wanted to share a van I could put you in contact with the guy who drove my stuff out here but he will be over £900 for Zurich.

Birmingham to Zurich, I would charge around £1000 for full Mercedes Sprinter van load. Don't forget on top of the £600 van rental you have fuel, ferries and tolls, so it all adds up to quite a considerable sum of money.

Hi there. I have some boxes in the UK which I'd like to bring to Zurich. Would there be any room in your van for them?

Hi,
We just moved from the UK to Arth (near Zug) and after lots of search I found one company that did a next day delivery of my entire house, including 2 motorcycles at a lower price than all the companies that take 20 days to deliver.
This guys do regular trips to Switzerland and supply lots of ex-pats all over CH and do lots of part loads so send them an email or call for a quote, go to www.franceremovals.com. It will save you the driving.

I have some china dolls which are full of sherbert (a white powder) which I would like someone to collect from me and deliver to the UK. Oh, and some batteries which I have wired together with some plasticine for a friends doll house. And could you collect some bits of glass which I got in Amsterdam on the way? Honest, it's all perfectly legit...
Anyone?
Anyone?
Bueller?
Seriously, would anyone transport something as a favour to someone they didn't know these days? Or am I being unduly paranoid (who said I was being paranoid?)
