Yes, it was ridiculous. Driving 120 instead of 130 to reduce sulfur dioxide emissions when it was all coming from coal plants in the Czech republic!!
The government seriously considered setting the speed limits at 80/100kmh but the French Swiss complained loudly and 80/120 was the compromise.
I wish Switzerland would have race tracks. It allows people that want to drive fast to have fun and learn safely (wearing protective gear) on the weekend.
I did that at Sears point for a while and it was a blast. I don't speed on the road.
