Does SBB Half-Fare card reduce yearly ZVV-NetzPass?

The title says it all. With a year-long 1/Half Fare card reduce a year-long ZVV-NetzPass card? If not, what's the most economical way to get around ZVV (either local or 1-2 zone)?

Thanks.

No. The Half-Fare Card doesn't make a difference for monthly or yearly passes, but for all other ticket types (e.g. single and multi-day passes, single and multi-ride tickets, etc.).

Do you already know how often and on which routes/in which areas you'll use the ZVV? Otherwise it's hard to tell what's most economical.

We're looking at places on west coast of the lake. Aldiswil, Horgen, Thalwil, etc. I'll be working in Altstetten and I'll be using the train every day.

Well, then it's a no-brainer... get a yearly pass for the number of zones you need, everything else will be more expensive and less convenient. (Assuming you will stay/work here for at least a year.)

Odd. The tarifzoneplan shows that it's only 2 zones, 10 & 50. But when I look at the price of a ticket from Adliswil to Zürich it quotes the price for 3.

Zone 10 counts as 2 zones. I fell for that one before!

The ZVV bonus karte is one of my favorit things, really, it's worth it. Check with your employer though, for example I only had to pay 450 CHF for mine and my employer subsidised the rest.
