Vespa parking in Basel/Mulhouse

Does anyone here know a safe (i.e. ticket-free and criminal-free) place to park a Vespa in Basel for a couple of days, as convenient to Mulhouse Airport as possible. Prefereably free.

The flight to Alicante out of Mulhouse is generally cheaper on the Saturday when it leaves at 6.30am. At this god-awful hour, it is not possible to take the train from Zurich and still arrive punctually. So, I'm considering riding there. (It's a 250cc, so will get there comfortably).

Thanks.

Re: Vespa parking in Basel/Mulhouse

....hmmm, no response.

There must be someone on this forum living in Basel who can recommend a safe spot to park a motorbike for the weekend at least? I'd appreciate it.

Re: Vespa parking in Basel/Mulhouse

1.) Well, It's a bike with a motor...
2.) I deliberately want to avoid paying exorborant parking fees

So, to summarise; free, city-based parking, that's safe and free. Oh, and also I don't want to pay anything cos I'm cheap. So, just to be clear: it must be free.

Cheers.

Re: Vespa parking in Basel/Mulhouse

And you'll be hitch hiking to the airport or paying for public transport?

Safe and free? So who pays for the security you want?

Train the night before and sit in the airport overnight?
How cheap is that?

Re: Vespa parking in Basel/Mulhouse

I know parking fees at Zurich airport are expensive yet.....two-wheelers park for free.

Why not use the "Contact Us" on the EuroAirport webpage I linked?

Re: Vespa parking in Basel/Mulhouse

OK. We're cool so.

I'd like to think I'm making some sense, so I'll explain. I already own the bike. It costs no more than 10Sfr in petrol round trip to Basel SBB as opposed to 60Sfr for train (SBB: Home - Online-Fahrplan, Ticket Shop, Reisen buchen, Online-Reisebüro). The train doesn't go that early. Also, difference in price of flight can be up to 100Sfr... Even if we factor in depreciation due to mileage ( ) it's still quite a saving.

Re: parking in Basel/Mulhouse (was earlier Vespa parking in Basel/Mulhouse)

Hi,

We are travelling to Basel tomorrow morning and planning to park our car at the airport for 4-5 days. The post has all the information on parking and rates (the web link by Lob, thanks).

I was just wondering, is it possible that the parking is not available, meaning is full. In that case we 'll be in trouble. Any opinions or suggestions? Is it possible to book a parking?

Thanks
Gerek
PS: Modified the subject because it could be a general subject on parking at the Basel Airport, I didn't mean to be rude.

Re: parking in Basel/Mulhouse (was earlier Vespa parking in Basel/Mulhouse)

tip: allow plenty of time in case all car parks are full.
tip: be prepared to pay more for the parking closer to the terminal - likely to be more leaving as the prices will be higher
tip: try the parking further away because people don't like walking
