change tyres

hello,

i have my own tyres, and i'm looking for a garage who can change it as cheap as possible (i don't care about the quality of the service). Any recommendations in Zurich ? (i live in Oerlikon, but anywhere in or near Zurich would be ok)

most other topics are recommending sites like reifendirekt.ch but i think you can only change tyres that you buy from them.

P.S. changing at shop i bought it is not possible, it was bought far away.

With safety items such as tyres, I would be more concerned about the quality of service than looking for the cheapest price!

Re: change tyres

I haven't any specific recommendations but I noticed there are a large number of independent, car-related businesses in Rümlang, just north of Zurich, to the west of the airport.
Tyre-shops, body repairs, 2nd-hand cars, motorbikes, etc. etc.

Re: change tyres

do get a reputable shop to do it.

I had them changed in Belégium and drove here the next day....They were not balanced properly so you can imagine the drive It also dumped on my gasmileage and was no good for the breaks.

It is in again today to RE do it...and i pay again as now im in Switzerland.

Re: change tyres

Yes, it is costly in Switzerland ... Mine were changed and balanced for the price 170 CHF

Unfortunatly, I can't balance them myself, so I gave them to garage.

The tyres are 205/45/ZR16

Re: change tyres

Don't make my soul crying. Anyway, I do the rest of the service myself, so I can survive paying money for tyre change each 2-4 years.

Re: change tyres

well, reifendirekt.ch has some search tool, in case you buy from them and get it sent to the garage. i guess, you can have a look at them, maybe they do it for private customers, too. they display the per tyre prices (you can find even 15 CHF/tyre) Note that there are extra prices per tyre for replacing the alloy rims, etc.

Re: change tyres

forgot to thank you fatih.erol!

i paid 70 chf for everything (including balancing) in garage in Regensdorf (which is just few km's from my home in Seebach... ). They accepted my own tyres without problem. (and this is where i did not try to save, i bought expensive ones, but also as cheap as possible)

it was in April, and the car runs fine. didn't experience any problems.
service was done in about 2 hours.

yet another example that you CAN pay much less in switzerland for many things (not everything...) if you want to.
