Anyone driving to UK before July 1st

Hi,

We're leaving Switzerland on 1st July and heading back to the UK for a while. Will anyone be driving over between now and July who would have room for a baby cot and matress and maybe a suitcase/box of our stuff. We live in Baden and we need to get our stuff to Cheltenham. We would be happy to pay towards petrol.

Thanks

Re: Anyone driving to UK before July 1st

I plan to go to Scotland in June, but by plane. Only if the ash cloud gets worse, I may take the Car to UK, and then I would take the Ferry Zeebrügge-Hull, or Zeebrügge-Rosyth, but that would probably not be helpful for you.

Doc.

We're going but only to Kent if that would be of any use?

Re: Anyone driving to UK before July 1st

hey there,

Funnily enough I am literally searching right now a means to drive back to the UK - also Cheltenham (churchdown to be precise) as I have quit my job and have reached the end of my time here. I am looking at rentals to transport my girlfriend (who is english and graduating from uni next week here in Ticino) and myself plus all personal belongings - no furniture etc...literally clothes and personal items only. Maybe we can strike a deal in some way? Have a think and let me know. We live in Ticino, but were planning on driving through Europe, making some stops along the way - maybe 2-3 weeks travelling - whilst heading to Calais and making it across to Glos.

Send me a private message and maybe we can arrange something that will suit all of our needs.

Martin

Re: Anyone driving to UK before July 1st

I'll have an almost empty van going over in 2 or 3 weeks. I'll be heading to North London but could drop off in Cheltenham. Let me know by PM if that'd be any good. (I can also pick up in the Locarno area on the 21st May)

It would be my final destination - but at the end of July at the earliest.

Thanks Dodgyken but we'll be leaving the UK again at the end of July. Cheers for the offer though

So for my late reply. My sister lives in London so this could be possible. What date will you be traveling?

Re: Anyone driving to UK before July 1st

I'll probably have an empty van heading over mid July, if we can find somewhere to store your stuff till then it might work.

Señor Grumpy, do you also have capacity coming back from the UK or is that when you're loaded up with your produce?

Cheers

I'm usually pretty full but can bring some small light items.

Would you consider taking a couple of my boxes too? Then I wouldn't have to worry about the 20 kilo limit. I have a storage room in Oerlikon at the moment, I guess I could sqeeze in a cot if its not too big.
