Are there some companies who do long term rental, short term leasing?

I wanted to see if you were successful at getting a decent rental? I may need one for maybe 8 or 9 months. I need to decide if I should buy or just rent.

I used a place in Lausanne that charged me 650chf per month for a Fiat Panda including breakdown and insurance. Dunno if that's good or not.

There is no way that (IF) you have a second car, borrow it to your family to use it? like a second pair of plates but "temporary" plates?
