Red Light violation ticket

Hi We are new to this forum but found it very helfful..
we were in swiss for a visit for 10 days and a month after we came back to US we got a letter from Zurich polizei for a traffic offence of breaking the red light for 1.4 sec...
we dont even remeber doing anything like that. The only time we were driving on the street address mentioned in the ticket is when we were searching for our hotel in the morning right after we got the car from the rental...

What should we do?? the letter says that we have to pay the fine within 30 days of receiving the letter or else we might have to pay more latter...
As of now they are charging 250 CHF.....i mean 250 CHF for 1.4 sec that too we dont remember crossing...so pathetic...

pl help and suggest what we should do...

You get taken straight to prison when you come to Switzerland next?

Well since you drove a rental car, they are going to charge it to the rental company, who in turn is going to debit the amount from your credit card, with the appropriate fees of course....

you tend to have two options:
1. Pay. I would seriously call up and ask them how you can pay - they might drop it.
2. Don't pay. This means you take your chances should you want to visit the country again.
