When you search for air fares, all sites always display which aircraft
the flight is operated on. e.g.

Whenever I book a flight, I always go http://www.seatguru.com , and
look at the color coded seating chart. It helps you select which seats
to reserve, so you know which seats to avoid, and which seats are excellent, e.g. extra leg room.

You'll also let us know if you were lucky enough to get a sober pilot, won't you?

Jet Airways actually had an incident back in Toronto 2008 that questions the pilots' sobriety.

Jet Airways Airbus A330-200, registration VT-JWG performing flight 9W230 from Brussels (Belgium) to Toronto,ON (Canada), did not contact Toronto Tower while approaching Toronto and subsequently landed without landing clearance. After exiting the runway the crew contacted arrival frequency to ask for ground frequency.

Oops! Perhaps I should just have said

"India's federal aviation authorities say they will be checking the licences of some 4,000 pilots flying commercial aircraft after allegations that at least four were found to have fake documents."

Brussels airlines is Expensive but fine.

Bit of an "older" fleet ( ex Sabena) but more then comfy enough.

Just don't act all posh..they don't like that
Last time i flew from Berlin to Brussels with them, (winter time) at 7 in the morning, the guy in front of us was complaining that the seats were to cold and his wine was not on room temp.. at 7 AM !

Steward kindly told him what todo, didn't hear the wino for the rest of the trip

All by all, good flight/good equipment/good service.

I've booked and appear to be putting my own life and the life of my pweshus babies into the hands of some drunken, undocumented Johnny foreigner. But hey, I've saved myself a couple of grand so it's not all bad.

I'll let you know if I make it out of this one alive.

So to report back, the Jet Airways (via Brussels Airlines) flight Geneva to Toronto was fine. Plane relatively new but pretty beat up. Entertainment system OK...not a lot of choice for kids but luckily they like to watch the same show 4000 times over an 8 hour stretch. Phew. They also had about 15 episodes of some new American series starring Tim Roth which helped the hours pass very pleasantly indeed.

Plane was on time in both directions. Cabin crew were super helpful and accommodating with the kids. Pilots appeared to be sober (I made a particular effort to scope them out on boarding...thanks Weejeem ) Food pretty good by plane food standards, but then I like a curry.

Overall a thumbs up mostly due to the wads of cash I saved on the flight. Thanks for everyones input.
