Daytime activities in Zurich for next few weeks?

Hi,

I'm going to be in Zurich for the next few weeks with my 3 and 6 year old's. Any suggestions for cool stuff to do during the day when dad is at work (or for the weekends when we can all go out)?

We already know about the zoo, so that's one day taken care of.

If the weather's nice how about a dip in the lake at the Zurihorn or at one of the local Baths. You could also team this up with say inlining around the Greifensee (another lake close to Zurich) and then ending with a dip and ice-cream. You can rent inlines from Zurich main station.

There are a few cableways/funicular railways in the city, which are always fun for young children.
- Polybahn (at Central, very short, so go up and down a few times)
- Rigibahn (at Seilbahn Rigiplatz, goes up to Rigiblick where there's a restaurant)
- Dolderbahn (at Römerhof, goes up to the Dolder Hotel, outdoor swimming pool - or you can walk around the woods up there)
Check www.zvv.ch to locate the tram stops mentioned above.

Oh - and don't miss the Theaterspektakel - Theatre Festival. It has lots of attractions for children too. Even better, take the boat there.

It's on from 16.8 - 2.9.2007.

Not Zürich but reasonably close by public transport.

There's a Model railway open day in Glattfelden September 1 and 2 which I will take my train-loving almost 2yr old to

Not a particularly brilliant web site but if you look around there are some pictures of last years and others which might appeal to kids
