Lufthansa sale

http://www.lufthansa.com/online/port...l=en&cid=18003

Return flights (via Frankfurt) to India and China for 519Fr.

I priced some random dates to Beijing and Bangalore from Basel (letter "B" fixation) and it actually came to 497Fr fully inclusive.

Re: Lufthansa sale

Another wonderful sale!

http://www.lufthansa.com/online/port...specialid=5625

Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore 500 CHF
Seoul, Singapore 550 CHF

I bought a ticket on the last sale and the prices are real and available.

Re: Lufthansa sale

Just had a look for some flights for a trip to Delhi that I'd already booked on Air France. Should not have seen how much cheaper LH is!

It is sickening, really...

Re: Lufthansa sale

Plus Air France is shit

That's life! Lufthansa often have good sales to Asia - I always recommend checking them as soon as you think you may need a flight. Every couple of months, so far, they've had one of these sales.

Between the April one I posted above and the one today, they had one to cities in China. I got a flight to Beijing for just under 500 CHF from Basel.

I've not seen a Lufthansa sale to NZ or Australia. Depends when you want to go. If it's next year (from end Jan to April) I recommend keeping a close eye on SIA's UK web site. They often have deals, you'll just need to add on a flight from Basel.

Otherwise try a cheap Lufthansa flight to Sg (currently 550 CHF) and see what it costs to fly from there to NZ.

AF does have better food though

and LH is not really good either imo... well, in fact, there's hardly any good European airlines

but definitely a GOOD sale though

Re: Lufthansa sale

Yeah, that's the odd thing. I actually paid less for my Beijing flight than the headline 500 CHF sale price. It's all good.

JustRose: The Singapore Airlines sale usually starts first week of January to catch those wanting to fly back to Asia over Chinese NY which is end of Jan (next year). So do keep an eye on it!

Good to know!
a pity that this would be too late to buy a ticket for me for traveling as need to go before mid-Jan... difficult to do long traveling at such last minute

Grab a flight to Singapore, and then buy a connection to New Zealand with Jetstar (www.jetstar.com).

528 CHF Basel-Singapore + about 800 SGD cheapest (~530 CHF) for Singapore-Auckland.

Still much cheaper than the same flight on a single ticket with any airline flying out of CH. You might also want to check Emirates for connections Singapore-New Zealand.

Re: Lufthansa sale

Some prices reduced even further!

Mumbai and Delhi dropped another 50Fr to 450.
http://www.lufthansa.com/online/port...specialid=5625

Plus some "half price" (well, I can't imagine anyone paying the original price, but hey) offers
http://www.lufthansa.com/online/port...pecialid=11590

e.g. Basel to NY for 499Fr

That's because they don't fly to nay of these places. They codeshare on Star Alliance partners' flights, i.e. Thai, Singapore and Air NZ.

Even better, mileage redemption rates are quite reasonable for SE Asia - AUS/NZ flights. So if you can get a cheap flight to HKG/SIN/BKK and a redemption flight for where you actually want to go, that's usually the best way. Call the Miles & More hotline to book these to get the bookings on one ticket - if they aren't you're b*ggered if something goes wrong with your first flight and you miss a connection in SE Asia.
