Re: Paris trip

If you have never been to Paris before you might want to stay in the city, walk a lot and only take the metro when you really need it. The 10-ticket "carnet" is quite decently priced, and can get you virtually anywhere in "downtown" Paris. As a rule of thumb I'd say "stay away from passes".

Re: Paris trip

I went to paris recently and the only 2 passes i bought was for the metro, i stayed 3 day and bought a 2 day pass so i can moved by metro as many times as i wanted.

the other pass i bought was for the batobus.. (altought is not a bus) is a boat, that makes a round trip around the sena river and moves you the biggest touristic things (eifel tower, notre dame, champ elysses, etc) i bought that one for only one day and walk the other day.
with this one you can get in and out of the boat as many times you want on the day, or days (dependes for how many days you buy this) and i thinks it closes around 9 pm.

have fun and a nice trip

Re: Paris trip

Pd. i forget the pass for the metro think it was 10 euro (for 2 days) and for the bato bus 9 euro (for 1 day) ...

if my memorie doesnt play tricks on me i think those where the prices.. if im wrong i dont think it would be by much

Re: Paris trip

If you don't mind it taking longer to get from one place to another, use the buses rather than the metro. You will see more - including places where tourists don't normally go - and will be in closer contact with the locals.

Re: Paris trip

I agree with Stephen, the only thing I did and was worth it is take the metro when going to Tour Eiffel and get off at Trocadero, the view and walk to the tower is amazing

Re: Paris trip

I'd go with the RER 2 day pass from the airport which you can combine with the Métro. The passes are available at all the major stations and at CDG airport by Aérogare 3 (train station adjacent).

Re: Paris trip

The Grande Arche at La Defense is quite spectacular and you can get to it on the Metro (not sure which stop), but when you emerge from the Metro it is quite breathtaking!
