Driving route/accomodation through Black Forest

Dear All,

We'll ( wife and myself ) be renting a car in Lorrach on a weekend and driving to the Black forest region. We want to spend a night in the region. Can someone please suggest the best panoramic driving routes through Black Forest and some good ( not so costly ) places for accommodation which are not very touristy/off the beaten path, on the way.

Thanks

Watch out for Restaurants (Gasthaus/Gasthof) with a sign saying "Fremdenzimmer".

its a nice road but watch out for bikers using it as a private race track!!

this is the site for the hotel http://www.neubierhaeusle.de/neubier-en.php

if you buy a michelin map look for roads that have a green border, these are clasified as scenic roads

Have you seen this thread for ideas?

The EF is full of great threads/info, always try the search button. I found 4 other threads on the Black Forest.

The Schwarzwald is a beautiful place, one of my favourites, enjoy

Yes , I did the search first , cuz I was scared of people bashing , if this information would have been present in some EF thread already...
true to human nature we all want cooked up personalized answers to our inquests.. but i've grown on these forum threads for last 1 year and learnt to stitch together the information offered from varied portals..
