SBB have the 25CHF single trip to Milan available on their site again.

Funny enough, when i booked the return trip Sept 9-11, it only charged 40CHF, which is dirt cheap.

The missus has vetoed our trip, but I thought I'd share with you guys in case any of you would like to go.

I book for 14th and back 16th October for 50 chf

Yes, it's true I actually booked for 1-3 Oct and paid 53CHF ... and I am really happy.

If you have a GA pass it would be much cheaper to get the train to Chiasso (for example) Then book a separate ticket with the italian rail service (http://www.trenitalia.com) for Chiasso to Milan. Would only cost you 10 Euros return or something ridiculously cheap.

Did you enquire online? I think many of these offers are not avialble from stations.

I can still pick up 46 CHF return 2nd class with a half fare card. Not quite the same deal, but not too shabby (checked weekend of 15th/16th October).

Do you go in international tickets to get that? Or just in TicketShop?
Would I be able to find the same deal for Verona? (more expensive because further of course).

You can get them through the standard SBB website with the ticket shop.

For Verona your best bet would be to get the deal to Milan and then get a separate ticket to Verona via the Italian rail website. You would have to change in Milan anyway.

Not true about the change in Milan. Fortunately I can find the timetable and it says there is a direct train leaving Lausanne at 8.20am straight to Verona.

But maybe the deal is only for Milan...

Do you guys get your tickets delivered by post then?

You can do I think, but I'd normally just pick them up from a station with a reference number provided, as I think they charge a postage fee.
