Daytrip including sunset in Switzerland

Hello everyone,
I'm an ameature photographer and interested in capturing scenic photos at sunset.

Recently I've been trying to make plans for day trips to some scenic / panoramic points. However I'm having a problem selecting places since the mountain transport usually stops in the evening. Does anyone know of any scenic places where the transport back leaves after 8 or 830pm? The only one I've been able to find till now is the funicular for Monte San Salvatore in Lugano.

I live in Lausanne and don't mind coming back even at 1am at night
thanks all

Overnight is absolutely not a possibility? If it is, there are a lot of mountain hotels and guesthouses you could stay in... and Swiss sunrises are awfully pretty too, you know.

The last funicular down from the Niesen is at 22:55. One of the best mountaintop viewpoints in the Swiss Alps.

I'm afraid its very difficult because it goes out of my (student)budget. Meaning getting 2 day passes for 1 scenic spot and paying for mountain cabin etc. I live in Lausanne so maybe if you know something near by would also be helpful

Closer to Lausanne, the Plan Francey funicular on the Moléson runs till 23:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. The cable car to the top of the mountain is currently closed for renovation, but even from Plan Francey you get a great view across to the Dent de Broc and the Vanil Noir range. The view looks eastwards though, so it might not be what you are looking for at sunset.
