Trying to take friends visiting from U.K. to Chateau de Chillon from Evian (by boat) on Saturday 1st October. Bar an Autumnal buffet cruise, I am struggling to make sense of what is available. I have worked out that there are lots of crossings between Evian and Lausanne, but then how do I get from Lausanne to Chateau de Chillon. We are interested in visiting Evian and Chateau de Chillon, not spending 3+ hours on a boat (and paying a fortune for a buffet!). Is there just CGN covering Lausanne-Chateau de Chillon or does anyone know of other companies? Any tip welcome!

Half an hour on the train, one minute past every hour from Lausanne station. The station where you get off is Veytaux-Chillon, it's right next to the castle.

Edit: or maybe there is a boat from Evian to Montreux, in which case it would only be s short walk from there.
