It is almost that time of year, where I get very excited to go and see the beautiful cow parade! I can really recommend it to families with kids, or just people who want to see something really Swiss.
I'm aware that there are other Dèsalpes across the country, notably Valais with the real alps. Anyway, it's free and it's in Le Boéchet, Franches-Montagnes, Jura on October 8th 2011. Here are some picture I took last year!

Dés 10 h : - Rendez vous de tous les propriétaires des génisses

Dés 11 h: - Animations musicales et soupe d’alpage

Dès 12 h: - Décoration des génisses et ajustement des sonnailles

12h45 : - Départ du troupeau avec les accompagnants direction Le Boéchet

13h15 : - La Petite Chaux-d’Abel, verrée organisée par la Fam. Oppliger

13h : - Le Peu-Claude, verrée organisé par la S E D les Bois

14h30 : - Arrivée Le Boéchet, rte. cantonale et cortège

Details on the website listed... there's a train station au Boéchet, but if you're coming by car, you might want to get there before the parade

I will be coming by train probably unless i can convince the OH to drive. So anw since my French are crap. If i get to the Le Boechet station before 1430 i should be fine right?

Did anybody go to the big désalpe fiesta in Charmey? My friends who live there hate all the razmataz, and came here for peace and quiet.

Train - doesn't matter when you get there! Just in the car, I know they close off the road....
So yeah 14h30 is when they will arrive in Le Boéchet!
