simple hotel with car-park Zurich old town?

Going to pick up US visitors from Zurich next week- so thought we would stay over for 1 night as we've never been. Anybody recommend a simple hotel in old Zurich, that won't break the (Sterling) bank and with a car park (Discovery = high roof). Thanks.

Re: simple hotel with car-park Zurich old town?

Would CHF70 for a dbl room be OK ?

http://www.youthhostel.ch/en/hostels/zurich/price

or CHF89 closer to HauptBhf

or EasyHotel

Odile driving in central Zurich is not much fun with the trams etc so you could think about driving straight to the airport & parking there overnight. You can easily get the train back into the city, this way you will also have a bigger range of hotels to choose from too since you won't need one with a car park.

Thanks a lot - will have a look at your suggestions tonight. Yes parking outside and taking the train in sounds good.
Merci.

Does anybody know the height of the access to Urania Car Park? We need a minimum of 2m10. Thanks.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn near the airprt when we went to Zurich and I don't think it was too expensive. Well it can't have been really or we wouldn't have been there.

They run a free shuttle bus service into the city and to the airport and they have a car park with security barriers. The shuttles to the airport are much more frequent than the ones into town so we got the tram to the airport on the way back and picked up the shuttle there.

Thanks both. Lonbyt I did Google the car-park, but didn't find the height info- thanks. We can 'lower' the car sufficiently to get in 2m10- we did today in Solothurn.

Re: simple hotel with car-park Zurich old town?

It is basic but a real personal favourite - I've found the staff to be genuinally (spelling?) warm: the Glattbrugg Bahnhof or Bahnhof Glattbrugg. They have space for car parking round the back i.e. out in the open but if you check, you can put it in the area covered by the cameras (although I parked my car there when I bought it over from England with 40" lcd in the back etc. without any issue at all. Also, it is a 7 minute tram ride from the hairport...

It backs on to the Glattbrug railway station and you have trains every 1/2 hour into Zurich HB.:
