TGV Lyria changes from December (Paris-Switzerland)

I just got this information from the Switzerland Travel Centre

Quote:
Paris Gare de Lyon will be the new hub for all TGV Lyria services to/from Switzerland. From the 11th December 2011 onwards all train services to/from Switzerland will arrive and depart at Paris Gare de Lyon. This means that you need to plan longer transfer time between stations when arriving by a Eurostar service into Paris Gare du Nord. We recommend that you allow at least 1.5h for a transfer between the stations (For the transfer use direct RER connections, the métro network or take a taxi in front of the station).
This is a backward step for the railway's efforts to compete with airlines.

No backward step us in the Romande then. TGV from Geneva and Lausanne already use Gare de Lyon.

As does the Bern/Neuchatel/Pontarlier TGV. However nowadays it is direct with the RER between the 2 stations, no problem.

True. That is the route I used a couple of times.

I wish they had made all connections from Gare du Nord to Gare De l'Est

Yes. Just being selfish. That would be much better for me. I found crossing Paris a bad experience by Metro or taxi
