Hello there,
Autumn is upon us with golden and red leaves and I am looking for nice nature areas to go for a walk/hike (duration 1 to 5h) to see all the colours of the season.
I live in Lausanne, and ideally I wouldn't need to travel more than 1h-1.5h by public transport to get to the hike. I've seen a lot of conifers on my summer hikes, but they don't change colours.

Do you know of nice autumn hikes in the region? Please tell me or show me photos...

Very true, Lavaux is said to be beautiful is autumn. I was looking for forests/valley, that are less famous.

I have only seen isolated larches in their fall splendor here in New England, but I suspect that forests of them should be spectacular.

Sorry, I can't suggest hikes but wanted to set the record straight.

How about a stroll around the Arboretum in Aubonne?

Two suggestions:

Take the train to Nyon and then the mountain train into the Jura. There's a 1.5h walk from St Cergue to Arzier (plus a number of other walks). You can also head from the Col du Marchairuz (can only get there by bus from Nyon) to Arzier which is about a 5.5h walk.

One of the nicest place for those is near Nax above Sion, or drive from Martigny towards Argentières.

The Jura is gorgeous now - sadly not quite as bright as last year which was amazing, as the switch from Summer to Autumn was very slow and gradual- but still quite good all the same.

I haven't been here long but I hear that the most spectacular colours are found amongst the vines of the Lavaux terraces.

Agreed, the colours at that time of year on Lavaux terraces, with the fading grape leaves, and with lowering sun angle, is extraordinary.
