advice on a bargain weekend outside of Switzerland in december

The wife and I are looking to travel for a weekend getaway. We are interested in the Christmas Markets. Does anyone know and bargain sites or even Know a great bargain. We are looking at the prices and its just outrageous to travel in December

Or do the triangle of Basel, Freiburg and MUlhouse/Colmar, giving you three countries for the weekend.
