Is it mandatory to show credit card for verification when boarding easyjet?

I would want to book a ticket for my friend... not sure if the traveller and the card holder must be the same person.

As long as the name on boarding pass matches name on passport you are fine.

They won't even ask for the booking card.

the card holder and traveller can be 2 separate people, you do not need to show a credit card when boarding an easy jet flight however you obviously need a valid travel document eg. passport.
when booking with easyjet you are required to put the travellers details,passport number etc onto the website or you will not be allowed to fly

No- you need your booking number and passport only. I've bought tickets for a friend who does not have a credit card many a time.

Edit Porsche our posts crossed - as he says be very careful with the name, if the passport says 'William' - 'Bill' just won't do - and spelling has to be perfect.

I think as long as the name on the ticket is actually that of the person flying it doesn't matter who paid for it or how.

It's not mandatory. I do not believe it was ever standard procedure for them to ask to see your card at check in.

It did used to be possible to present your credit card as a substitute at check in if you had lost/forgotten your booking reference.

AFAICT, EasyJet really, really, really want you to print your own boarding pass before you go to the airport.

I've booked tickets for family before. You will need all their passport details to enter so you can get the boarding passes. These come as PDF so you can email them their boarding pass and they can print it themselves.

Make sure to agree with them beforehand whether they are travelling with hand luggage only or will want to check baggage. Otherwise the baggage charges are what can rightly be called punitive.

i have been asked twice, once by qatar airways and next time by easyjet to show the card thru which booking was made. also sometimes the hotels also ask. it is just a way to prevent credit card frauds. So u might be asked.
