Ideas for winter activities for children. Questions and suggestions

I found this thread Family Friendly places to visit in Switzerland - great TODO list for us, thank you! But unfortunately I didn't find anything specific to winter time there.

Any recommendations for the place where we can go NOW (25-30.12) for a couple of days with fun activities for a 2 year old kid? Ideally with ICE rink - don't know if she will manage/like it but there are skates of her size already
And we stopped skiing, so pistes are not needed.

Re: Ideas for winter activities for children. Questions and suggestions

I've removed this from the original Thread with summer activities.

I expect there are quite a few folk who'd like to find sledging runs and easy slopes suitable for youngsters. Let's have your ideas ready for the school holidays please.

I've also made this into a temporary Sticky so that all ideas come to the same Thread (or I can find it when I want to merge Threads!) I'll let it slip out of sight again later... when the snow melts.

Thanks for that! I think it makes sense to include summer in the topic of that older thread - 'summer' is only in tags at the moment.

We went up Titlis from Engelberg a few years ago, at the top there was a fun park place. Best bit was the large donut rubber rings that you sat on and slid down and around a very enjoyable purpose built track in the snow. My 2 year old sat on my knee in relative safety (it doesnt get too fast). Also up there was a nice restaurant and an ice cave. We spent best part of a day up there, say 10.30 to 3pm.

Titlis fun park - might as well have the link since it looks good.

Thanks for suggestions so far! The only problem we will place I think will be hotels availability - last minute travel in ski area might be a hard task even we are not skiing. Therefore suggestions for places without any pistes around are especially welcome!

Edited: some hotels are still free in Titlis area e.g., so we will try any posibility

The Waedenswil ice rink is right next to the railway station (and the lake)
