Re: Museums in Zurich

The Swiss Museum Pass is a good buy:

And there are also unique museums, like:

Executioner’s Museum in Sissach & the Swiss Museum Pass

Not free, not valid with the Museum Pass as well.

Re: Museums in Zurich

my favourite is the Kunsthaus, with its fantastic art collection spanning centuries.
currently (but only until mid january) the Nahmad Collection shouldn't be missed. check out their excellent website for information on guided tours on various themes and interesting offers, like a very convenient year membership.

Re: Museums in Zurich

Very close to Zurich, in Winterthur, you have Villa Flora. It houses one of the best private collections in Switzerland, with focus on 19th and 20th century paintings (Cezanne, Van Gogh, Matisse, Maillol, Bonnard, just to mention a few). Both the space and the collection are an absolute delight to visit, and worthwhile the trip.

Re: Museums in Zurich

Discounts especially for women?

As opposed to all those cultural centers that offer reduced rates for men and certain other bipeds?
