Axalp-Ebenflug Aircraft Firings

OK so you have missed half of it...

Axalp-Ebenflug is a live aircraft firing display held yearly in a valley south of Luzern to give the swiss pilots an opportunity to throw their aircraft around with gay abandon and tear through the valleys at Axalp with afterburn. This makes for quite spectacular viewing which is done from the top of Axalp offering amazing views and close proximity to the aircraft which are often flying at the lower altitude than the spectators. It is being held in the afternoons of Wed-Thurs 10-11 Oct 2007.

Impressive pictures from last year can be found at :

Details can be found in the scanned brochure at :

Its amazing scenery , plenty of fresh air and a chance to check out some serious hardware.

Go down and enjoy something a little different…

Re: Axalp-Ebenflug Aircraft Firings

Is this a recommendation ? It looks rather nice on the photos, but I am too late to make it tonight even if I leave the Talacker at midnight....

Another early morning start for me.

More than a recommendation. Both the rooms and the restaurant are absolutely superb.

This looks stunning, but bad timing as I'm in the UK at the moment (just completed my PPL in helicopters ).
