Bad Säckingen

Hi all,

I promised myself I would start exploring more around Basel, and my first trip I hope to go next weekend to Bad Säckingen. Can anyone recommend what its like, where I should see, how long a visit takes etc?

Thanks!
Mike.

We often visit the spa bath (therme) there, it is never very busy inside and a family of 4 cost around 27€.
Very relaxing!

Our youngest was 3 the first time, but it might be worth a phone call first.

Many thanks, I will look out for them. Don't suppose if anyone knows about whether the monthly TNW U-Abo card will get me there for free, and if it does, do I just get on a train without buying a ticket or...?

Thanks,
Mike.

Re: Bad Säckingen

Yes, the U-Abo covers you on the Swiss network up to there, there's no need to buy another ticket. Take the S1 S-Bahn from Basel SBB in the direction of Frick or Laufenburg and get off at Stein-Saeckingen. Then walk down to the Rhein, over the bridge and you're in Bad Saeckingen.

(It doesn't cover you on the German network though, so you can't use the DB trains which go from Badischer Bahnhof to Bad Saeckingen)

So I can just show my U-Abo if they ask on the train and they will be fine with it? Awesome!

Thanks.
