Sledding in Basel

I am looking for a good location in Basel or Baselland that is easily accessable with public transport for some sledding fun! I don't need a mountain or an official sledding place, just a big hill! Any ideas would be much appreciated. If anyone is interested to join i plan to go this Sunday!

Re: Sledding in Basel

the hill at st.margarethen is well covered and the kids are using it now. It has a staw bale wall at the bottom to stop you going off the edge also.

Re: Sledding in Basel

And our village has a good hill for sledging that is used by adults and kids alike.

Seltisberg - Galms Hill. Train to Liestal (10 mins) bus to Seltisberg (8 mins) get off at Gemeinde Zentrum walk back in the direction you came and turn down the next road on the right. You will see the hill/hear the kids from there.

The hill under the Wasserturm (water tower) in the Bruderholz is popular for sledding. Tram 15 to Airolostrasse, cross road, walk up Im tiefen Boden and it's right there (5 mins walk)

Really, it all is in Binningen. Go to http://www.binningen.ch/xml_1/intern...1152/f1170.cfm and click on Ortsplan Binningen. South of Margarethenstitch, South of Gundeldingerstrasse and West of Unterer Batterieweg is within the borders of Binningen.

btw - you can also get the 10 to Dorenbach and walk up Margarethenstitch.

Re: Sledding in Basel

Bruderholzspital is also in Binningen, funnily enough. It's a little enclave bitten into the side of Bottmingen.
