Hi yall,
The hubby and I are thinking of taking our two kiddos to Germany for a visit. Anybody know of kid friendly places to visit, castles, etc. Should we use the train to get there or rent a car?
They are 4 and 7. We are living in Zug and are willing to travel pretty much anywhere. We don't have a car but could rent one if it were to help with the travel.
thanks in advance
Zeppelin Museum, nice park with a little beach on Lake Constance and a promenade with lots of ice-cream parlours and restaurants for a lakeside dinner. You can get there easily by public transport too - train to Konstanz, then catamaran over the lake (which is fun in itself).

Our kids loved Ravensburger Spieleland (www.spieleland.de) and Legoland. They are both theme parks aimed at up to about 12 years old. Ravensburger is less of a journey, I think it was about 2.5 hours drive. I think Legoland is about 4 hours.

I would definitely rent a car with two little kids!
Much more comfortable, you can carry lots of this and that, clothes to change, you don't have to wait, and it is cheaper.
