I suppose, among other things, it could be used for visiting the Onion Market, Bern, taking a cheaper flight from another airport in CH, going on a cruise on the Thun & Brienzersee with a discounted side trip to Jungfrau, shopping for Swarovski at Scuol / Samnaun duty free and so on.

Ideal for the visitor without the expense of a Halbtax card.

Are you sure about the weekends ? On the french version of the website, they just mention Monday to Friday (as on the SBB website)

Yes, it covers weekends without any restrictions on time as per graphic attached in the OP and in the German version of the Migros page.

I note the FR version does not say this.

Do you need to specify a date like the Tageskarte Gemeinde? If not then these are amazing!!

Its a shame I already bought 3 sets of Tageskarte for Sept and October - will have to see how many day trips we can fit into November!!!

The Gemeinde ones are approx. 5 CHF cheaper, but are locked to a particular day and you usually have to buy them quite a few weeks in advance, especially the weekend ones.

These Migros tickets look like a great deal. I believe they are "open" as in you don't need to specify a day; just start using it (and a conductor will stamp it). A day ticket for someone without a Halbtax, if you just rock up to SBB and buy one, is over 100 CHF!

I believe that it is the same like the Migros Duo Tageskarte ( open dated, validated only on the day of use ). I would stock up on a few

Trust this clears up the air and provides a balanced comparison, especially to those who have PMed me.

All of them are valid in CH according to the enclosed map and in some cases, beyond CH borders.

How did you manage that? They just told me that they don't go on sale until tomorrow. Oh well I'll just have to go back tomorrow as I want to use it on Wednesday.
The French version of the migros magazine does however say that they are valid at weekends.

I guess my Migros got them in early - the poster on the wall did say 21st August to 10 September. I only just noticed that today is the 20th!! I don't speak German so maybe she thought it was too much trouble to explain that they don't go on sale til tomorrow.

The ticket has 'Valid 21.8 - 30.11 2012' printed on it so I couldn't use them a day early anyway.

Went to Migros today, and the lady at the counter said they didn't have them. I insisted that they were supposed to be on sale since yesterday - she made a phone call and she found them after all, hidden under the counter.

Definitely available at week-ends, but not before 9am week-days.

Not worth it.

I had similar experience. went to Migros Oerlikon and a rude lady told me that they will be available tomorrow. She initially said that they dont have such cards and then argued with me that I did not pronounce "TagesKarte" properly

Then, I went to another Migros. The lady at the counter did not know about untlil she clarified with her chief. I finally received the coveted Tageskarte
