I will be visiting my partner for the first time in Neuchatel over the Christmas and New Year's holidays. Since our dogs will board at the kennel in Virginia, can anyone suggest a location within Neuchatel or its environs (trail, lakefront, residential area) where dogs and their people go for recreation? We'll be craving to spy some frolicking terriers about January. Is there anything comparable to US off-lead dog parks?

Also, what vendors sell hot chestnuts we can munch while strolling? Thanks for any holiday advice. It's my first trip, and I'm looking forward.
