| | | Can anyone identify this location? Switzerland or Canada?
I saw this picture without any mention of its location. I did a Google Image search and it appears many times on the internet, mainly in blogs. I cannot see a site that claims to have the original picture. Some sites imply that it may be Switzerland, others imply Canada.
It looks rather like the Eiger and Jungfrau from somewhere in the vicinity of Murren but I am not convinced.
Any better guesses or clear details appreciated. Thanks

Tree with red leaves might given indication of where it might be...
But having zero botanic knowledge I am of no help | | This user would like to thank The_Love_Doctor for this useful post: | |

But having zero botanic knowledge I am of no help | | | | | Good point. That would make North America/Canada seem more likely than Switzerland. There is a lack of evergreen trees but there isn't a wide panorama to judge

I'm not so sure. If you mean the Eiger to the left, it's leaning too much and From Mürren, the Jungfrau is closer than the Eiger.
I've also never seen trees with bright red leaves in the Oberland.

Per Google Images, the site with the highest resolution ( 560 pix ) of the picture alludes it is in North America.

I think I am veering towards North America as the location. The stuff on the table doesn't look particularly Swiss either

This looks like high desert, New Mexico or Utah, looks very arid around the lower elevation. The Flora looks desert, dry bush and sandy looking ridges, the sunset is enhancing the redness in the image. I don't think Swiss put tin foil on their tables either. |

My guess is that it is not in Europe. Look at the coffee cups and the woman's nalgene bottle...very North America.
Lets see...the sun is about 10-15 degrees high. The leaves are missing (deciduous trees at that). Brown grass fields. The mountains have pronounced ridges and the peaks are rather broad.
I think this this photo was likely taken just after sunrise in the fall somewhere in British Columbia. With a camera...by a guy named Roadhouse or Chip.
Is that close?

Not Switzerland.
There are odd dishes on the table that aren't used in Switzerland.

Weird guess, but where did you see this? My guess is the Rocky Mountains, where you can get the tree line that low and snow that high in one shot.
