Re: Ryanair: Non-EEU passport holder cannot online-checkin

I am not sure if this will add or cause more confusion (from: Ryanair's website http://www.ryanair.com/en/terms-and-...ldocumentation) :
In order to ensure compliance, passengers should carry a valid passport (and visa if applicable) or EU/EEA government issued national identification card on all journeys. Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of breach of these requirements shall be paid by or charged to you.

Children added to a Parents/Guardians Passport EU/EEA Nationals (except UK and Ireland passport holders) - From 26th June 2012 children should have their own Passport when travelling (one person per passport). From this date onwards existing entries of children in their parents passports are no longer valid. The passport is only valid for its holder and any child added to the document MUST hold their own passport. Please refer to your passport issuing office for further details.

Ryanair does NOT accept driver licences, residence cards, seaman books, a police report (issued in the event of travel document loss/theft), military ID cards etc. Expired or damaged forms of photo-id will not be accepted on any flight.

I've noticed this, and got even more confused. I am not sure how they deal with the passengers like me, I am trying to call them, but no one picks up my call.

Much the same with me ( non-EU ) and Wizz Air, online check-in with boarding pass issued but needed to verify documents at airport desk first and get a stamp. Fortunately Wizz Air did not charge for this document security check.
Yes, but the confusing part is that Ryanair does not accept resident permit but only passport. It seems that passengers from non-EU have to request for a visa even they have valid Swiss permit.

Re: Ryanair: Non-EEU passport holder cannot online-checkin

Its perfectly clear it states carry a valid passport and/or visa if applicable, what I ask ks confusing about that used them before and as long as your passport is valid then you are permitted. The visa bit is because it is your responsibility to obtain the relvant visa if you require one for your nationality

Note that not all nationalities get an EU EEA permit and in fact I know people where the permit only allows a stay in Switzerland. So yes the web site is right as it covers the optios.

Best advice first document is the passport followed by relevant permit or visa which is your responsibility to obtain.

No need to make this hard to understand as its really very simple.

One simple question...

Where can you fly with Ryanair in Switzerland?

Thanks!

Yes. But please pay attention to the opening hours of RyanAir's office. For example, they are closed from 11:00 - 15:00, if you are flying on 14:00, you still need to pay the additional fees. Good luck.
