Zurich ski resort question.... how time I got left? Also Season passes?

I live in zurich and I want to get some sort of season pass *next winter* (08/09)

what I am doing right now is trying out all the possibilities near zurich. In the last 3 weeks I tried:

Hoch-Ybrig (didnt like it, too small)
Flumserberg (great, really liked this place)
Davos-Klosters (nice place, but day didnt go too well. I put my bag in a locker and they turned the lifts off at 16:15. when I skied to the bottom, they wouldnt let me up to get my bag. Its still up there and I have to collect it some time over the next few days. I cant believe they have lockers in a place which is inaccessible at 16:15. I assume I could at least get a 16:30 lift up. Anyway, Ive learned form that mistake)

I want to try out more places. I have 3 questions:

1.
So I assume that if I get a season pass, it means that I have to choose one resort right? (Or if there a multi resort pass like they have on the east coast in the US?)

2. Any more recommendations near zurich? Also if you were to get a season pass, where would you get one for (assuming you live in zurich).

3. And finally, how much time do I have left this season to try out places. Are some places open longer than others? If so which ones and Ill try those last.

thanks!

Flims/Laax is a great place, big too. Check out www.laax.com you can ski across from resort to the other. They do season passes, we had one the year before last. It takes us 45 mins to Flumserberg and 1 1/2 to Flims/Laax so not too far to travel. Cheers Catherine

There are many multi location cards too...

The Meilenweiss does the area around Flumserberg etc.

There is also a Graubunden card that does the whole canton of Graubunden and a Top Card that does some of the main resorts in Graubunden.

These cards are more expensive but may be worth it if you go a lot and don't always want to go to the same place. Also most of them are a little cheaper if you buy before the season starts.

If you are into freeriding, Andermatt and Titlis are tough to beat. You can get a multi-resort pass which includes these two mountains (plus 13 others). Check out the following:

Thanks guys for all the info!

So how long I got left? Is there somewhere I can check if resorts are open closed?

I assume its still ok for me to go to flims/laax tomorrow?

If you do day-trips from Zürich, Meilenweiss is really a great deal as I see it. It's a shame Hoch-Ybrig hasn't joined. Not that it is my favourite area but it is close and snow-safe.

Re: Zurich ski resort question.... how time I got left? Also Season passes?

Went to Laax today and had a great time.

Im interested in the Meilenweiss card. Can anyone recommend any place on that card (other than flumserberg) near zurich?

I want to try somewhere new in two weeks time, so I thought maybe Id try one of those.

Or even can someone recommend any other place that hasnt been mentioned at all?

The snows going so you will be stuck with all the big resorts, places like Ibergeregg etc will be very low on snow. We are in March now so most the purist have hung up thier Skis its just the Auslanders skiing now.
But next year try either heading out towards Schyz (Ibereregg, Rigi, Stoos) or Toggenberg, (Wildhaus, Santis) both quiet areas.

Re: Zurich ski resort question.... how time I got left? Also Season passes?

Do Laax/Flims have lockers? Also, does anyone know if Lenzerheide have lockers? I had heard somewhere that they didn't, which strikes me as strange for such a large resort.

I wouldn't want to travel all that way only to have nowhere to put my stuff.

Also for Laax/Flims how good is it for beginners?

I was thinking of trying Stoos next weekend. Would it be too late for that now?

Im not sure actually. This was the first time I have gone to a resort and made sure that I travelled lightly and thus had nothing to put in a locker. I didn't see any there, though I never asked.

I went to Stoos just over a week ago, the snow was getting pretty thin in places but there was still plenty about.

We're due for new snow this week, it snowed here this morning, you should be able to get a few more weekends in yet.

Lenzerheide has lockers at Lenzerheide Post. See my earlier thread on this.

I have no idea about Flims...
