Great for families with kids!!

The slides are very long, and some you can go down on these crazy 4 man dingeys ans some even go outside.

Highly recommended for a day out!!

I agree very expensive if you are going as a family.

See Alton Towers' water park prices:

Adults £34 (CHF70.22!!)
Children £24 (CHF49.57!!)

Alpamare prices:

Adult CHF 40 (£19.35)
Child CHF 32.50 (£15.73)

That's at today's rates with the strong franc. So waterparks may be expensive, but it is a myth that Switzerland is expensive...

AbFab - thats the theme park prices you are looking at. If you scroll down the waterpark prices are much cheaper.

The slides & wave machines that are part of the Alpamare experience (with the possible exception of the iodine pool!) are now standard inclusions in new swimming pools built in the UK. As such they are priced very cheaply compared with Alpamare.

However this is tempered by the demise of many traditional 50m swimming pools...

If I remember rightly Alpamare operates time limits too, which is a bit odd....

Yeah i found that strange, i would of thought that they would at least have a pool with lanes included in the complex.......shame really.

Upstairs though you can buy raw meat and then cook it how you like on the BBQ provided.....great stuff!!!

Zürich has many 50m pools, in contrast to a city like Frankfurt that has none...

In the UK swimming is the most popular sport in the country as reported recently on the BBC but many rectangular pools are closing as not financially viable. Ironic really...

This link refers. Swimming is Britain's most popular sporting activity. Twenty-two per cent of adults and half of all schoolchildren regularly go to pools. Angling is enjoyable, but doesn't set the pulse racing.

I have actually, but the angling in UK survey is more fly-fishing and the more gentile variety.
