Driving in the Swiss alps in september

Hi

We are a Norwegian group of friends that are planning to drive a few of the mountain passes in Switzerland. Our plan is to fly to Munic on a Wednesday and drive towards Switzerland and possibly Andersmatt where we will stay for the night.

On Thursday we would like to have a nice day with wonderful driving at some of the nearby passes like St Gottard, Grimsel and Furka before we head back towards Munich. Perhaps we will find a hotel in Lichtenstein. Total driving time on Thursday should be about 4-6 hours.

On Friday we will deliver our rental cars in Munic.

If you have some advice for us, please we would like to hear them 

Yep, in English Munchen is written with an 'h' at the end = Munich.

I've done the round trip of Susten, Furka and Grimsel in September, on a bike - no hassle or problems.
Unfortunately, didn't have time for Gotthard, but it should also be fine, in September, although a bit higher.

Re: Driving in the Swiss alps in september

I figure one hour/pass on average on a bike, more in a car as you can't pass tour buses and campers.

My wife's father was from Stavanger, and until a couple years ago I spent an average of two weeks a year in Norway (mainly Oslo) for work (NRK).
