Anyone ski near Neuchatel?

Hey all,

Does anyone here ski in the Jura near Neuchatel? (or anywhere else nearby)

I want to start skiing (not the best timing I know :P) and am looking for some people to go with - maybe Bugenenet or Savagniers? I've never skied before but I'm up for giving it a shot or maybe have a lesson at first.

Send me a PM if you fancy going!

Noori

Re: Anyone ski near Neuchatel?

Skiing with a beginner is like taking a baby for a walk: you are always stopping and picking them up, dusting them down and taking 5 more steps....

So if you are learning, please join a ski club and take some lessons, and when you can ski a bit, people will ask you along to ski with them.
Or better still, make a social club out of your ski course, and then you will be skiing with people with your ability.

Yup do a couple of private lessons, better still get somebody to come do private lessons with you.
At least get to the stage where you can go/steer/stop and use the lifts.

Re: Anyone ski near Neuchatel?

A bit late now as we are getting towards the end of the season. I took a couple of Neuch expats to try their ski legs a couple ot times at the very small resort of Les Fourgs, on the other side of the border- perfect for learning and very cheap ski hire and lifts. Snow is disappearing fast- but if we go again, I'll tell you about it. Best would be to have a few private lessons, with a few friends (they might be interested)- your best bet is to go to Les Fourgs or Métabiefs (both on French side, near St Croix and above Vallorbe)- Swiss ski school in the Jura tend to do group lessons on a weekly basis - rather than odd hour here and there.
