Suggestions for Ticino

We have some last minute changes and need to reschedule our long week-end of Ascension. Any good recommendations for Ticino (3-4 days)? Focus is food, sightseeing, museums, culture, spa & relaxing. Travel by car with kids.

My friends open their grotto that weekend:

Local food, Live Music, Wine Tasting. Don't miss it.
(maybe the prof. is stirring polenta...)

I know that place, as we've been to Cevio a few times, in fact the police even phoned me to ask if my bike had been stolen, as it was weird for them that someone from Ticino would stay there overnight!

(we normally stay at Respini's, also, my daughter lived there or in Bignasco or Cavergno for four years)

Re: Suggestions for Ticino

Hi, good choice for your long week end!

Food: it depends on what you're looking for... a nice restaurant? Grotto? Pizza?

Sightseeing: the castels of Bellinzona & the local market (on saturday till 1pm) , Valle Verzasca (such a beautiful place!) and Cardada (above Locarno, for a nice walk and a stunning view).

Relaxing: http://www.lidolocarno.ch/it/13/home.aspx for the kids.
Just next to it: http://www.lidospa-locarno.ch/

Hope it helps :-)
Ciao, V.
