Hi All,

I have been to couple of places in Zurich or maximum an hour travel from Zurich central say Rhine Falls, Rapperswill beautiful town on river side, Flumsberg(nice for skiing),Uetliberg a mountain scenic view point, Felsenegg.

Is there anything else if someone would have explored for a day out with kids ?? Looking for outdoor activities, scenic places !!
Thanks for reading :-)

Interlaken, ConnyLand, Alpamare

These are much outside Zurich however but well worth the travel.

Re: Places to visit in Zurich

Although this is a very old Sticky Thread (it stays at the top of this section of the Forum to find it easy to find!) there are quite a lot of great ideas in it.
It is not just relevant for the Zürich area either. Many of the links will no longer work, but with a little bit of Googling one can doubtless find the more up to date version.
Happy Hunting.
Places to Visit (many suitable for children) in Switzerland.

Uetliberg Planetenweg (nice walk, good views, planets modelled at scale and appropriate scaled distances along the path). You can either get the train up from HB or get the tram to Triemli and walk up. You come down around Adliswil by cable car and get the train back.

Re: Places to visit in Zurich

Hi!!

I want to do a day trip to a nice spot close to Zurich. I am willing to travel up to 2 hours by train.

Do you have any recommendations? Maybe in nature?

Re: Places to visit in Zurich

'Close to Zürich - two hours by train ' makes it sound as if you come from the Outback in Australia or similar vast area. In two hours by train you can get a LONG way from Zürich by Swiss standards.

Without more detail of what you are looking for, it is very difficult to make helpful suggestions. This country has 'nature' all over the place. You don't need to tell us your personal life history but a hint or two about the folk involved would make it easier for us - family? children? walkers? folk interested in wildlife? keen to see mountains? wild flowers? typical Swiss farming areas, old churches, Swiss Folk Lore and Traditions? You want it? we've got it!
Try the Advanced search area on here. It's not perfect but will give you a few ideas of what is around.
Have fun searching and enjoy your day.
