Biker Event - Ace Cafe (Luzern) Grand Opening 19th - 21st June

Calling all bikers!

Sports, classic, custom, tourer, cruiser...whatever your choice, the new Ace Cafe (the sister one to the Ace Cafe inLondon, UK) is having its grand opening this weekend - from 4pm on the 19th til 2am on the Sunday night.

It's a fun-packed weekend with camping and bands and stuff...

Here's the weblink: http://www.acecafeluzern.ch

I'm looking for anyone to join me as I don't know any English-speaking bikers yet here in Zurich.

I'll be going down all 3 days probably as I'm hiring a sports bike for the weekend.

Anyone want to join me either by meeting me there on the Friday evening or Saturday/Sunday days??

I'm a girl on a sports bike but don't hold that against me!

I would be interested weather permitting, and I might come with a friend or two.

Are you going back and forth every day, or are you staying there because Friday is almost certainly a no-go for me. If you're going every day, we could do this route that is excellent fun and then get back from Lake Zug (Arth, Walchwil, Zug).

If more people are in, I'm definitely in for either Saturday or Sunday.

Also, just checking the weekend weather on Google, it seems like it's going to be cool and not too much sun but no rain, which ain't half bad

We're thinking about tomorrow if the weather holds up, and we're on a Hornet 600 and an ER6-f.
If you're up for tomorrow, send me a PM and we can discuss details.

Anyone else from the greater ZH area guys?

I didn't make it out this morning anyway... the hire bike I've got is brand new so I didn't wanna risk rain with new Bridgestones (yuck...)...

Hopefully gonna meet up with a couple of people on here tomorrow as the weather looks better in the morning at least.

Just gonna keep monitoring the weather for now...

What on earth has the weather got to do with it, bikes are made to be ridden in all weathers, if you wait for the weather, you will never go anywhere.

They've obviously never had to courier, to make a buck.

No such thing as bad weather - just bad riders clothing.

Re: Biker Event - Ace Cafe (Luzern) Grand Opening 19th - 21st June

Now I'm no fair weather biker - water is just water (tho hail stones are interesting...) - but as my hire bike e.g. not mine, is brand new with brand new tyres and are Bridgestone Battlax's (which I really don't like on a sports bike) rather than Michelin 2CT's, I'm not gonna push it and risk dropping it til I've run it in.

Plus I've not ridden in 3 yrs so easy does it... Have to say good to get out on it tonight - seeing the Zurich open air opera was amusing dressed in bike gear...

So, back to the point of the thread - anyone coming tomorrow to Luzern with me?

I wouldn't mind doing a decent run there - the one mentioned earlier in the thread? Unless there are any other suggestions?

I suggest meeting here at 11am? I'll wait til 11:15 then start heading down using the route already mentioned... :-)

Hope to see some folks there :-)

I'll be on a blue and white Gixxer in black and white leathers and lid.
