Golf over Christmas -- suggestions?

I'm kicking around the idea of booking a golf holiday over the Christmas holidays. Does anyone have recommendations for nice locations to target that time of year (I think the max flight time would be ideally 4 hours but somewhere warm) and any suggestions for nice hotels/villas or golf courses to look for? Or any good tour groups that organise golf holidays?

Thanks!

Hi, Obvious answer but we have been going to Portugal for the past 20 years, second week of January and you can't go wrong. We stay at the Marina Hotel in Vilamoura and it's perfect. Our main reason for returning is we can count on one hand the amount of days lost to weather.

Vilamoura has 5 courses, then on your doorstep you've got Vila Sol, 3 courses at Quinta do logo, 2 at Vale do Lobo and San Lorenzo which has just been redeveloped, but to play usually means staying at the Dona Filipa Hotel. This is just the best local ones, there are many more!

The Algarve although great can be expensive, so a lot of golfers are now heading to the Antalya/Belek region of Turkey. Courses and hotels are normally All inclusive and really good quality and value. Main problem we found was we like to get out and about a little in the evenings, and the Turkey option was not great on this front. But hotels and courses could not be faulted.
