Week long stay with sledging possiblities group with 3 yr olds

Hi,

Any tips/suggestions for a week long rental/accomodation near a mountain/hill resort for a group of 6-8 adults with 3 children (3yr olds)?

Sledging possiblity would be a great plus!

Thanks,
Legin

Do you want posh in resort or natural and more isolated in the woods?

Hi Odile, I am thinking of an approx 2000 CHF/week(is this possible?) spend. So anything around that am willing to explore.. Thanks!

Now timing is the key here. We have just booked a great châlet for the UK half-term dates- and of course the price is x 3 the same châlet in January or in March- outside Swiss school holidays. So what are your dates?

I suppose you want to me near Zurich anyhow- so probably my suggestions would be too far. Flümsberg probably a good bet.

We don't mind getting a bit far also. (even if that takes us to border countries) Our dates are 23/24th December - 30/31st Dec, so I guess that will be peak time.

What site/sites you use to search for such rentals?

Thanks!

It would have to be from 23rd as the Swiss celebrate Christmas on 24th, and the 2nd. for same reasons.

You can look at InterHome - or pick a resort/location and Google Châlet or appartment for rent, etc.

The Châtel we are renting is great- but for 11 (+ extra child bed we are bringing) - but not for 2000 at those dates, I'm afraid.

You're renting a small castle? Or an entire French ski resort? I think we should be told.

Re: Week long stay with sledging possiblities group with 3 yr olds

UK half-term prices are just crazy- and so are those for Christmas and New Year! And as said, not easy to find a really nice one for 12 in the 4 Vallées!
Someone here recommended one which turned out to be 3 x more expensive than this one- yiiiikes. It's total madness- but then I think OH will only be 70 once, and possibly our last ski holiday as I will have a new knee right after.

A website I have used for holidays in the French alps is www.chaletsdirect.com
If you can decide on a resort it is usually possible to book self catered apartments via the local tourist office, you may have more luck finding something within your budget this way
