Offroad car driving

Hi All,

Anybody could advice where to go in Switzerland? Or knowing people, who organize trips in CH or abroad?

Thanks Norbs

That's only if they can recognize your number through all the smoke.

To the OP though:
Are you looking for fun places to go to with a car you already own?
Or places who offer lessons?

You'll have to get very lucky to find anything in Switzerland - you might get away with messing around on an open military testing area - but "might" and "will" are not the same thing.

Your best is to look in France and Italy - google threw up results last time I checked - but that was a while back.

Re: Offroad car driving

I have a co-worker there was out driving with some Landrover guys near Geneva just recently. I will ask him for details and get back to you.

But my general impression is that there is not a lot of these events around.

Probably the swiss are not happy with old oil-dripping bangers driving around in their beautiful nature

Re: Offroad car driving

Try searching the net with the key words

"geländefahren schweiz"
"geländeparcours schweiz"

Although it's not really crosscountry offroad, I'm afraid this might not even exist here in Switzerland. Never heard of it anyway.

Forget it in ch, there is a park somewhere in the south but tiny so not worth the effort. Go to Italy and France

Re: Offroad car driving

In Switzerland offroad driving is more usually practised when jumping the queue to the Gotthard tunnel...

Re: Offroad car driving

Please can you stop recommending France as an offroad destination?

We got enough noise and irritation from those "sportsmen" driving four wheeled motorbikes on quiet country paths. Nutters in big 4x4's with Swiss plates we do not need. Try Italy!

1. Is it legal to drive where they are? If so then it's simply tough.

I will happily provide links for french green lane route forums to anyone that asks.

Oh well, live and let live, I suppose. Here's the French 4x4 federation...

Re: Offroad car driving

To be fair I have found that many on street based quads act like complete dicks. I don't know anyone with a 4x4 that isn't responsible though there are always exceptions.
