Wibble has made some interesting contributions
Kids school holiday activities (around Basel)

Hi,

Found a book of kids holiday activities floating around at work, and it has a website where you can download a PDF copy of the book. There's probably lots of different things like this around, but this one is for our neck of the woods.

http://www.regio-ferienpass.ch/?idpage=2

There's really cool stuff for kids to do (does cost money though), like t-shirt painting, visiting the fire brigade, bread baking, etc. etc.

Anyway, have a read if you're interested.
Maybe people who have similar resources for their local area can follow-up.

cheers,
(Mr)Wibble

Re: Kids school holiday activities (around Basel)

Great link (even if I am near Zurich); I hope you don't mind me adding some things Wibble.

Also, in Basel is the "Kids Camp" (it was linked last year); my daughter went a couple of years ago and loved it. http://www.playintheusa.org/kids/kids.html

If you don't mind driving into France (), there is the Monkey Montain in Kintzheim about 1.15 from Basel (past Colmar). That was the place to go for us. I would buy a little wine along the way or even stop in Colmar.

And something new is a ropes course at the Ballon D'Alsace (I've never been to this particular one). This area is pretty for walking too.
