we will be in lausanne for a few days next week with kids (7 and 4) and i was hoping for some suggestions about any activities that might be available and fun for them, normally the lake would do fine but it will be too cold... in the past we have been to the Swiss Vapeur Parc with great success for example, although pretty much any suggestions would be great, thanks!

Well, the Vivarium in Lausanne is great: they have snakes, spiders, crocodiles, etc. If you have a car, the zoo in Servion is very nice as well. Just google 'Lausanne' and 'Vivarium'/'Servion' and you'll get all the directions you need.

Otherwise, the playgrouds at Ouchy and Pully are very nice (both at the 'débarcadère' where you take the boats). If it rains, there are a few nice museums as well (Musée de la Main, for instance). The gardens of the Olympic museums are also beautiful.

Still with a car, a day or an afternoon at the Signal de Bougy (above Aubonne) is wonderful: huge playgrounds for every age, walking in trees ways, farm animals...
