Thermal Bath & Spa Recommendation

Hi all,

Perhaps you can help ....

I am in need of some serious 'me' time - and what better way to pamper myself at a thermal bath. I am looking for a 'beauty farm', so to speak, that offers spa packages, accommodation and most importantly, has child care for a one year old.

We are in Geneva - but are willing to travel. )

Thanks!!
Spatzl

Check out Leukerbad and Ovronnaz, both in Valais.
The spa in Vals is spectaculare, but takes ages to get there.

Enjoy!

Re: Thermal Bath & Spa Recommendation

Hey there!

I don't know a spa, that especially offers childcare. but there's the new Westside Building outside of Bern that hosts both. A Spa with treatments and stuff, and a childcare (and by the way shopping as well), so that might be what you're looking for. http://www.westside.ch/

without the childcare, there are some nice spas in the alps (graubünden, hope this is not too far away):
http://www.therme-vals.ch/ (asks reservation ahead)
http://www.hotelcastell.ch/ (a hotel in engadin, that offers childcare as well)
i hope this is what you're looking for and enjoy your "me-time"

Re: Thermal Bath & Spa Recommendation

Wow, thanks to all who posted. Gorgeous spas! I just love 'Therme Vals' - and could see myself in awe there, but sadly, it's a bit of a commute from the Geneva area. I also like the 'Westside' water park ... just wish that the hotel was a little more 'family friendly'. Looks far to corporate sterile! Has anyone actually stayed there? We will definitely make a trip to the water park when our son is a little older!! Thanks again for all the advice!

Re: Thermal Bath & Spa Recommendation

Budapest is a beautiful city...and cheap these days. Some amazing public baths and spas there. And there is an overnight train from Zurich. Stay at the Corinthia Grand or the New York Palace (Great restaurant).

or to stay in CH...the best!

Beau Rivage Palace
Lausanne, Switzerland

The Beau Rivage Palace has views of the lake and the Alps, but the real draw is the Cinq Mondes spa. It's 15,000 square feet and has a private suite with its own hammam (Turkish bath) and Bain Japonais (double Japanese bath for two). Treatments include Balinese massage and Taoist face-care massage; the spa is also introducing a series of packages to entice summer travelers. Through Sept. 30, guests can pay $1,660 for two nights' accommodation, breakfast and five spa treatments each.

enjoy!

No need to travel far. Drop your kid off at La Madeleine des Enfants, http://www.genevefamille.ch/N2859/la...-garderie.html, then go to this luxurious urban day spa http://www.spa-aftertherain.ch/. You have to book your treatment in advance, but your child you can leave in the garderie above without prior notice (max 3 hours).
