Easyjet tickets

About a month ago I booked return tickets for myself, husband and our daughter (infant ticket) to fly with easyjet from Zurich to London Luton.

Flying on the 22nd Dec and returning on the 30th Dec.

Our plans may be changing and we may need to fly a different airline to a different airport. We don't really want to lose the money we paid for the easyjet flights.
If we do change our plans would anyone want to buy these tickets from us?
These plans are not set in stone but I just need an idea if anyone would buy them from us at the cheaper price we paid for them compared to what they are now. They will just need a name change.

It may also be that we sell the outbound journey and keep the inbound.

Sorry if I writing in the wrong thread. just wasn't sure where to put this

Re: Easyjet tickets

be advised that easyjet adds on a big surcharge for changing the names on the tickets....usually it adds up to the same amount as if you would buy from easyjet directly...

Re: Easyjet tickets

Beware
Most airlines will cancel the return if the outward journey is not used. can you not go to Luton and then onto your destination by train/hire car?

The outbound flight is a Saturday morning which works well with our daughter. We need to travel a few days before and the only flight by easyjet outbound in the week are in the evening and are too late for our daughter to travel. By the time we get to our destination it will be early hours in the morning. I just wish easyjet did refunds......

I'm not sure where your onward journey takes you in the UK but perhaps you could change your airports to Geneva and Gatwick? There are lots of early morning flights from Geneva (and only around 60 CHF) and for the inconvenience of the train journey down to Geneva, it might save you a bundle on trying to cancel your originals.

Re: Easyjet tickets

Easyjet charges a 47 CHF (online) or 72 CHF (by phone) name change fee per ticket, plus you have to pay the difference of any increase in fare since the original booking. (See here). So you probably won't find any takers (unless they are really bad at maths).

Heather

PS-I see people with small children on flights at all hours of the day (including very late at night). Perhaps for the sake of convenience, you could make it a late night for your daughter just once?

Re: Easyjet tickets

OK, thanks everyone for your advice and suggestions. I will have a chat with my husband tonight. It seems begging with easyjet to let us change Geneva to Stansted is the way forward. Booking Christmas flights early to avoid high costs has back fired on me. Any how, thanks again.

You will not get anywhere begging with EasyJet. This a low cost airline, not a charity.

The tickets you get are single journey tickets and the outward bound journey is priced separately from the inward bound journey.

These conditions of sale are clearly shown on the website and you have to tick a box to say you have read them and stand by them before you pay for your on-line booking.

I'm sorry for your plight. I've suffered the same problem. But there is no way out other than paying more money. Very bad luck.

I think most airlines that sell return tickets (therefore not applicable to Easyjet) demand you check in for the outward leg to permit you to use the return leg. They don't demand you actually fly as far as I am aware. You can check in online several days in advance. I have done this several times when I changed my plans and booking a different flight turned out to be cheaper than changing a booking.
