Re: Kids in Zurich

1. the zoo. Oh, she loves the zoo. It's pretty hilly, so we never see everything on one trip. Plus, the playgrounds at the zoo are really good. So, even though it's the same place, it's always different for us. Also, there are a lot of refuges from bad weather, so it's really an all year thing. Once we went the day after Christmas. It was one of our best visits, as the snow leopards were in their element and the elephants made snowballs with their trunks and ate them!

2. boat rides. Sometimes we do a ride to Rapperswill, to the children's zoo, and take the train back. Otherwise, you can combine a lunch in the city with a ride on the glass roof boats that go on the river. They're surprisingly fun.

3. The area on the lake past Bellevue. There's the China Garden (not super great, but there are Koi, which are mesmerizing for kids of a certain age) and then a big playground nearby, plus tons of sausage stands for an impromptu picnic on the grass to watch the boats. You can also rent a paddle boat, but I've never done that.

4. The Uetliberg. Actually, our kids are too young (wimpy?) but if yours are the hiking/high energy type, there are lovely views, easy (flat) walks up on top and lots of restaurants that cater to kids, with playgrounds to ease the wait and kid-friendly Swiss food. Basically, it's built to tire kids out.

Gidday A

I guess you know about Starbies, Trampolino, The Luzerner Verkehrsmuseum (traffic museum- good for girls too), as the weather gets better there is the petting zoo at Königsfelden/Windisch, Technorama (go with a science nerd for an in-depth experience, else its just fun to play with the gear- under 5's are free too).
There is Schloss Lensburg, Schloss Hallwyl, the garden center at Schniznach Dorf- they have a choo choo train with smoke on wednesdays.

Check out this site: http://erlebniswelt.liliput.ch/

You gotta google yourself tho- i'm washing the kids at the mo.

Re: Recommended play parks and activities for kids in Zurich

Hi
I look after an 11month old boy and would love to go to playgroups so he gets used to playing with children, but not one that costs 300chf for 10weeks.
Help :-)
