Basically for those of you who like cycling, blading, walking, running, etc... (no motor vehicles) the SlowUp (Swiss translated from SlowDown) is a circuit on the mainroads when once per year these roads are closed to cars and open to pedestrians with non-motorized means of traveling. The link above provides details, dates and areas. (Fr,Ge,It).

Our SlowUp (down), is the 26th of April which circles the lake of Murten. No entry fee, lots of train/tram stops, loads of people, and many snack / drink bars along the way, distance is 32 kms if you go all the way around. Bikes can be rented locally.

Maybe see you there since our house/office is just off the main road field, look for the Canadian/British/Swiss flags..

This year's Morat SlowUp is this coming Sunday, April 10th. Somewhat earlier than usual due to Easter at the end of the Month
