Re: Shopping in Germany

Jestetten - near Neuhausen. There is a large Aldi just over the border. Singen is also good for food shopping.

Jestetten has a whole range of shops. Discounter Aldi and supermarket Edeka (newly rebuilt), etc.

Have you been to every Aldi in Germany and what do you find so awful about "it"?

We frequently go to Engen ... within a small area you have a Lidl, Aldi, Edeka, Schlecker and DM, and they are usually not busy on Saturdays.

Re: Shopping in Germany

We go to D - 78262 Gailingen, just over the wooden bridge from Diessenhoffen. There is a Lidl, a DM and a Kik for childrens clothes http://www.kik-textilien.com/en/ There is also a beach, picnic and play area on the river Rhine (German side) for the kids. http://www.land-am-rheinfall.org/de/...ex.php?popup=1. There are small borders around there, often with no one present.

Thanks for that will try this summer, though my wifes father originates from Diesenhoffen we haven't been for a few years, are there still bullet holes from WWII in the wooden bridge? He used to tell stories of the local kids swimming and playing in the river from dawn till dusk.............rip
